Product Overview
The MyPlaces Portlet provides Liferay portal users with a dynamic and customisable community navigation tool. Its core function is to present a clickable community listing which responds to the current user's credentials - by default, anonymous users are presented with a listing of communities with public content, signed-in members see a list of communities in which they are enrolled as a member.
A significant feature of the MyPlaces Portlet is that it is able, through attributes added to communities by portal administrators, to construct and display a virtual community hierarchy via the portlet - any given community can have a "parent" community and multiple "child" communities.
